Hans has been training in martial arts since the age of four. His first instructor was his farther, Hans Marrero Sr. (USMC Ret.), a former Chief Instructor for the U.S. Marine Corps in hand-to-hand combat.   Subsequent to his fathers training Hans has learned many different styles of martial arts, including Kobushi-Sessen Jutsu (Feudal Warrior Close Combat Art), Shorinji-Kempo, Kyo Kushin, Kai-Kan, Aikido, and Matsukazi-Ryu (Jujitsu).  He is a Senior Instructor for the Police Combat Training Academy where he teaches Close Quarter Battle (CQB) to law enforcement officers and military personnel.  In addition, he teaches civilian self-defense and competitive mixed martial arts. Hans began fighting competitively at the age of eighteen with a current record of fifteen wins and three losses.  His first loss by decision was to Brodie Farber.  This loss helped Hans realize that he still has much to learn.  Therefore, he decided to find the best trainer in his area and contacted Mark Kerr, former UFC and Pride Champion, with whom he has been training for the past three years.

Hans ambition is to become a world-class champion fighter at the higher level and believes that he belongs among the best of them.  Hans personal ambitions have brought him to this point where he thinks he is ready to show the world his talent.
